Important: As this is an often-linked repeater, there are NO repeater tail or courtesy tones. As such, there is no point in kerchunking the repeater to check your radio or to see if it hears you. It will NOT acknowledge your RF signal. Please ensure that your connecting radio is not using courtesy tones. Courtesy tones cause lots of unnecessary key-ups on repeaters that are linked together. Think of every transmission as a “rock in a pond”. The ripples of the splash travel and connect with every other linked repeater. The East Coast Reflector normally has over 850 repeaters linked to it 24×7, so please don’t key-up all of those unnecessarily. Turn off your courtesy tones.
